I believe that government subsidizing of higher education has driven the cost up. The best control would be getting back to saving for college. This would drive the cost back down. Programs to help lower income citizens gain marketable skills for gainful employment. Example Technical schools and certifications.
I would like to eliminate the state income tax and support a consumption tax.
Medicaid reductions would have to be carefully considered case by case. The elderly and infirm who are dependent on Medicaid could not have their benefits reduced. I would find an effective way to crack down on and eliminate fraud, there are private companies that are very effective at accomplishing this.
